Our free Email Forwarding feature allows to create personalized email addresses for a domain and forward emails to other email addresses of your choice. This service is available for all domains pointed to our\u00a0BasicDNS<\/a>,\u00a0BackupDNS<\/a>,\u00a0PremiumDNS<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0FreeDNS<\/a>\u00a0systems.<\/p>\n

It is possible to create up to\u00a0100<\/b>\u00a0forwarding email addresses on our BasicDNS and FreeDNS name servers, and up to\u00a050<\/b>\u00a0forwarding email addresses on our BackupDNS system.<\/p>\n

This is a forwarding service that does not allow creating fully-featured email accounts and send outgoing emails from\u00a0address@yourdomain.tld<\/i>, since it\u2019s a virtual email address. You may consider our\u00a0Private Email service<\/a>, which allows to create such an email account.<\/p>\n

In order to set up\u00a0Email Forwarding<\/b>\u00a0for your domain, please do the following:<\/p>\n

1. Sign into your\u00a0Namecheap account<\/b>\u00a0(The Sign In option is available in the top hat of the page).<\/p>\n

2. Select\u00a0Domain List<\/b>\u00a0from the left sidebar and click on the\u00a0Manage<\/b>\u00a0button next to your domain:<\/p>\n

3. Navigate to the\u00a0Advanced DNS<\/b>\u00a0tab at the top of the page:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

4. Find the\u00a0Mail Settings<\/b>\u00a0section and select\u00a0Email Forwarding<\/b>\u00a0from the drop-down menu. MX records will be set automatically once you\u00a0Save all changes<\/b>:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

NOTE<\/b>: The SPF record shown in the screenshot above is needed for free email forwarding to function, thus, it cannot be deleted.<\/p>\n

Once MX records are set, you need to create your\u00a0forwarding email addresses<\/b>.<\/p>\n

5. Choose the\u00a0Domain<\/b>\u00a0tab on top of the page and scroll down to the\u00a0Redirect Email<\/b>\u00a0section. Click on the\u00a0Add Forwarder<\/b>\u00a0button:<\/p>\n

6. Fill in both the\u00a0Alias<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Forward to<\/b>\u00a0fields with the corresponding information and click on the checkmark icon to save the changes.\u00a0Alias<\/i>\u00a0is the name of your forwarding mailbox. For example, if you are forwarding all emails sent to\u00a0admin@yourdomain.tld<\/i>\u00a0to your destination email address, you will need to put\u00a0admin<\/i>\u00a0in the\u00a0Alias<\/i>\u00a0field (it is also possible to forward the same alias to several email addresses).<\/p>\n

Make sure that the\u00a0Forward to<\/i>\u00a0field contains your full destination email address as well.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Please allow\u00a0about 2 hours<\/u><\/b>\u00a0for newly created mailboxes to be completely set up on the forwarding mail server. After your settings have been activated, you will be able to test your mail service.<\/p>\n

NOTE 1:<\/b>\u00a0Delivery of test emails sent from the same email address that is set as\u00a0Forwarded to<\/i>\u00a0will most likely fail. Thus, please use another email address when testing the email forwarding service.<\/p>\n

NOTE 2:<\/b>\u00a0Emails that contain a\u00a0.zip<\/b>\u00a0attachment are automatically blocked by the Free Email Forwarding spam filter. Such emails will not be forwarded to the email address that is set as\u00a0Forwarded to<\/i>.<\/p>\n
