This service is available for all domains pointed to our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/support\/knowledgebase\/article.aspx\/782\/10\/how-do-i-set-my-domain-to-use-namecheaps-default-dns-servers\">BasicDNS<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/support\/knowledgebase\/article.aspx\/923\/10\/what-is-the-difference-between-your-dns-system-v1-and-v2\">BackupDNS<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/support\/knowledgebase\/article.aspx\/9654\/2231\/what-is-premiumdns\">PremiumDNS<\/a>\u00a0or<a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/support\/knowledgebase\/article.aspx\/531\/51\/what-is-freedns\">\u00a0FreeDNS<\/a>\u00a0systems.<\/p>\n<p>It is possible to create up to\u00a0<b>100<\/b>\u00a0forwarding email addresses on our BasicDNS and FreeDNS name servers, and up to\u00a0<b>50<\/b>\u00a0forwarding email addresses on our BackupDNS system.<\/p>\n<p>This is a forwarding service that does not allow creating fully-featured email accounts and send outgoing emails from\u00a0<i>address@yourdomain.tld<\/i>, since it\u2019s a virtual email address. You may consider our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/hosting\/email.aspx\">Private Email service<\/a>, which allows to create such an email account.<\/p>\n<p>In order to set up\u00a0<b>Email Forwarding<\/b>\u00a0for your domain, please do the following:<\/p>\n<p>1. Sign into your\u00a0<b>Namecheap account<\/b>\u00a0(The Sign In option is available in the top hat of the page).<\/p>\n<p>2. Select\u00a0<b>Domain List<\/b>\u00a0from the left sidebar and click on the\u00a0<b>Manage<\/b>\u00a0button next to your domain:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/namecheap.simplekb.com\/\/SiteContents\/2-7C22D5236A4543EB827F3BD8936E153E\/media\/Domain%20List.png\" width=\"847\" height=\"268\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. Navigate to the\u00a0<b>Advanced DNS<\/b>\u00a0tab at the top of the page:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/namecheap.simplekb.com\/\/SiteContents\/2-7C22D5236A4543EB827F3BD8936E153E\/media\/FEF3.png\" width=\"851\" height=\"163\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4. Find the\u00a0<b>Mail Settings<\/b>\u00a0section and select\u00a0<b>Email Forwarding<\/b>\u00a0from the drop-down menu. MX records will be set automatically once you\u00a0<b>Save all changes<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/namecheap.simplekb.com\/\/SiteContents\/2-7C22D5236A4543EB827F3BD8936E153E\/media\/FEF4.png\" width=\"847\" height=\"191\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>NOTE<\/b>: The SPF record shown in the screenshot above is needed for free email forwarding to function, thus, it cannot be deleted.<\/p>\n<p>Once MX records are set, you need to create your<b>\u00a0forwarding email addresses<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>5. Choose the\u00a0<b>Domain<\/b>\u00a0tab on top of the page and scroll down to the\u00a0<b>Redirect Email<\/b>\u00a0section. Click on the\u00a0<b>Add Forwarder<\/b>\u00a0button:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/namecheap.simplekb.com\/\/SiteContents\/2-7C22D5236A4543EB827F3BD8936E153E\/media\/FEF5.png\" width=\"855\" height=\"116\" \/><\/p>\n<p>6. Fill in both the\u00a0<b>Alias<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Forward to<\/b>\u00a0fields with the corresponding information and click on the checkmark icon to save the changes.\u00a0<i>Alias<\/i>\u00a0is the name of your forwarding mailbox. For example, if you are forwarding all emails sent to\u00a0<i>admin@yourdomain.tld<\/i>\u00a0to your destination email address, you will need to put\u00a0<i>admin<\/i>\u00a0in the\u00a0<i>Alias<\/i>\u00a0field (it is also possible to forward the same alias to several email addresses).<\/p>\n<p>Make sure that the\u00a0<i>Forward to<\/i>\u00a0field contains your full destination email address as well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/namecheap.simplekb.com\/\/SiteContents\/2-7C22D5236A4543EB827F3BD8936E153E\/media\/FEF6.png\" width=\"860\" height=\"147\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Please allow\u00a0<b><u>about 2 hours<\/u><\/b>\u00a0for newly created mailboxes to be completely set up on the forwarding mail server. After your settings have been activated, you will be able to test your mail service.<\/p>\n<p><b>NOTE 1:<\/b>\u00a0Delivery of test emails sent from the same email address that is set as\u00a0<i>Forwarded to<\/i>\u00a0will most likely fail. Thus, please use another email address when testing the email forwarding service.<\/p>\n<p><b>NOTE 2:<\/b>\u00a0Emails that contain a\u00a0<b>.zip<\/b>\u00a0attachment are automatically blocked by the Free Email Forwarding spam filter.
